King Charles doing 'extremely well' after cancer diagnosis, Queen Camilla says // King Charles "is doing extremely well under the circumstances" following the start of his cancer treatment, Queen Camilla has said. Buckingham Palace announced the King's cancer diagnosis on Monday. It was detected while the monarch was undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate last month, the Palace said. The type of cancer has not been disclosed, though it has confirmed it is not prostate cancer.
Keir Starmer: Labour ditches £28bn green investment pledge // Labour is ditching its policy of spending £28bn a year on its green investment plan, in a major U-turn. The spending pledge, announced in 2021, had been a key part of the party's plans to reach climate targets and secure green jobs. Sources insist the plan, which includes creating a publicly-owned green power company, is not being dropped altogether. But Labour will no longer commit to investing £28bn a year to deliver it.

It says all affected schools will receive funding to permanently remove it - although, unions say the announcement includes no new money.

Kellanova, which owns the Greater Manchester Trafford Park plant, said the company could not see a "long-term future" for it. There are about 360 jobs at the factory, which could be closed by 2026.
Israel chooses Eurovision 2024 entrant amid calls for a boycott // Singer Eden Golan has been chosen to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest, as organisers face calls to ban the country over the war in Gaza. Golan, 20, was selected in a TV talent show after performing Aerosmith's I Don't Want To Miss A Thing. She dedicated the song to the more than 130 Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza. Â But musicians in several countries have called for Israel to be suspended.

Wonder Man: Crew member dies on set of Marvel TV series // A crew member working on the new Marvel TV series Wonder Man has died on set after an accident on a high walkway. The incident took place at the Radford Studio Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Filming was not occurring at the time. The man was identified by the coroner as 41-year-old Juan Osorio, who was believed to be a lighting technician. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has launched an investigation into what happened.

Sin-bins have been used at grassroots level for dissent but their use could be extended to cynical fouls as part of a trial. A player would spend 10 minutes in the technical area after being given a blue card by a referee. It is not yet clear when the trial will start and which competitions it will involve.
India vs England: Hosts win by 106 runs in Visakhapatnam to level series // England's series with India is level at 1-1 after a target of 399 to win the second Test proved to be well beyond the tourists in Visakhapatnam. John Ryder: British super-middleweight announces retirement // British super-middleweight John Ryder has announced his retirement from boxing after a 13-year career. The 50-year-old, who has led Red Bull Racing since its founding in 2005, will be quizzed by an independent lawyer on the complaint. Parent company Red Bull Gmbh, based near Salzburg in Austria, said on Monday that it is taking the allegations against Horner "extremely seriously".
House price rises highest for a year in January, Halifax says // House price rises in January were the highest for a year as mortgage rates continued to ease, the Halifax has said. A slowdown in inflation and a buoyant jobs market also helped push property prices up, it added. The UK's biggest mortgage lender said a typical home now costs £291,029 on average, a 2.5% jump from January 2023.
Nestlé axes classic Breakaway bar after 54 years // Once a staple of school lunchboxes, the classic Breakaway bar has been axed by maker Nestlé. The chocolate biscuit bar was launched in 1970 but Nestle said it had made the "difficult decision" to discontinue it after a decline in sales. The company also said it was axing the Yorkie Biscuit bar, not to be confused with the Yorkie chocolate bar, which is "staying for good".

Anders Operdal told the BBC energy security should be top of the agenda after Russia's invasion of Ukraine saw supplies disrupted and prices hiked. Equinor is the biggest investor in the Rosebank oil field in the North Sea - the largest new UK oil and gas field development in decades. But critics say new oil fields will not make UK energy supplies more secure.
